For My Dad
Karen Hislop wrote on 2009-07-19 17:45:35.0
Comments: I am looking for any information about my father who served in the USMC during the Korean war and was in Chosin. He was called back in to serve in November, 1950 until 1952 (we think). He was a Sergeant in the first Marine Division, 5th Marine regiment (we think)... He was a scout. If anyone knew or knows of Allyn Nelson, we would like to hear from you!

Correction
Scott Snider wrote on 2005-04-04 05:59:19.0
Comments: Wrong leave date should have been 1953 not 1952. Both served from 1952 to 1953.
Also my father's name was Arthur "E" Snider
Thanks again Scott

Comments: I have been looking for a Luke Wallach. He contacted my sister years ago and I would like to talk to him. Anyone who might have known my dad Harold, I would love to hear from you. You all are my heros, thank you for what you did. I pray every day that no more men have to die in Korea. I have 10 children and tell of the heroic deeds all you Marines have done. God Bless you all. I would also like to know who to write and find where my dad was during the war and his medals he received. Thank you Shirley

Ted,
Thank you very much and God bless you for your effort. Yes I was in the
Chosin Res.. One of the first up there.
It was a little cold. We were told it was 35 below when we were there.
On the Discovery Channel they said it was 40 below. Then I read on the
Internet that it only 20 below. but any one who was up there could only
say "IT WAS TO DAMM COLD FOR ANYONE".
I would like it very much if you could help me out and finding Cpl.
Gerald Jackson. Its been a long time but I still think I owe him
something. God bless you and all you do.
We were both radio Ops. I worked as forward observer and laison.
Gerry did his thing 11th Marine Headquarters.
